Position Overview
The Associate Director - Student Services and Programs – Graduate, Professional and Other Learners has the responsibility to oversee all aspects of customer service including website, publications, communication and services by the Office of Financial Aid for specific graduate and non-traditional populations. This position is a key decision-making contributor who supports and informs high level enrollment management decisions regarding aid programs and policies to recruit and retain students. In conjunction with other leaders in the Enrollment Management division, this position guides the Office of Financial Aid's success in achieving office and University goals for enrollment.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as a highly visible campus leader performing an integral role collaborating with other key stakeholder offices across the university and identifying opportunities to support both current and prospective students as new initiatives are conceived, developed and launched
- Function as lead reviewer of existing university aid programs and architect of improvements needed to recruit and retain students
- Lead as data source/analyst for reporting on the graduate program metrics
- Serve as campus Financial Aid liaison for students pursuing graduate, continuing education
- Counsel prospective, current, and former learners through visits, emails, presentations and phone calls
- Provide efficient and effective ongoing communications through the complex financial aid process and enables families to make informed decisions regarding the funding of higher education, while balancing the University’s needs with the learners’ expectations
- Manage and supervise the development of strategic communications, events, and outreach
- Establish and maintain policies and procedures to ensure compliance with Federal, state, and institutional regulations and policies in strategic categories of enrollment growth, graduate, and other learners
Required Skills/Qualifications
- Comprehensive knowledge and understanding of state laws, and institutional policies
- Extensive experience with all components of calculating student financial aid eligibility
- Authority to apply aid regulations to university policies and disseminate regulatory and policy guidance of the Office of Financial Aid
- 8+ years experience working in positions of increasing responsibility in financial aid
- Ability to analyze and interpret financial data
- Demonstrated ability to maintain confidential information
- Comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a proactive approach to responsibilities
- Strong written and verbal communication and listening skills
- Intermediate experience with technology, including Office 365 software, video conferencing
- Ability to work on campus (flexible and remote work arrangements available based on departmental guidelines)
Preferred Qualifications
- Master’s Degree
- Experience working in financial aid at a private college
- Experience with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions or Oracle Student Financial Planning
