Position Overview
The Director of Campus and Community Development will play a critical role in early-stage project management of key campus developments. This role will ensure the successful implementation of project timelines, deliverables and reports.
This is a grant funded position through September 2029.
Responsibilities
Campus Development
- Develop and manage timelines and deliverables for the successful implementation of campus development projects
- Engage with Gateway Executive sponsors in assessing preliminary scope, alignment with strategic priorities and identification of dependencies and stakeholders on campus development projects with critical impact upon the campus
- Collaborate with Gateway team and partner developers to review industry trends and market analysis; track and support the team in the contemplation of feasibility studies, financial analysis, legal agreements and partner vetting
- Manage the overall project timeline during the assessment and validation stages of campus projects
- Collaborate with partners to track and maintain metrics for Butler-related engagement in relevant programming
Grant Implementation
- Provide regular progress reports, track budget and ensure the successful implementation of grant activities
- In consultation with grant team and executive sponsors, ensure the successful implementation of overall grant timeline and deliverables
- Provide regular progress updates to executive sponsors
- Track and report on engagement metrics
- Coordinate plans and implementation with Butler Stakeholders related to programming
Community Development & Engagement (project specific)
- Holcomb Gardens and Sustainable Landscaping – track education of campus and community in collaboration with partners and stakeholders, including the Office of Sustainability
- MLK Center new Wellness Center – oversee reporting engagement activities related to the new wellness center
- Tarkington Park – oversee and maintain reporting and metrics for Butler-related engagement in relevant programming with IndyParks, the MLK Center, and community partners at Tarkington Park
- In collaboration with Sr. Director of Gov and Community relations, provide support as it relates to the Midtown Indy, Inc. partnership
Reporting and Financials
- Review financial reports monthly and work with staff team to ensure appropriate entry of accounts payable
- Maintain appropriate files and records
- Track relevant metrics and outcomes
- Collect reports from Sub-Grantees and Midtown Indy, Inc
- Prepare drafts of reports for review by Executive Sponsors
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- Minimum 5 years’ experience in project management, campus development, financial management, community engagement, or related field
