Position Overview

Embark on a pivotal role as you join our dynamic Human Resources team to provide indispensable operational and administrative assistance to our esteemed Benefits and Wellness department. Your mission? To elevate the efficiency and effectiveness of communication surrounding Butler's comprehensive benefits and wellness programs. Through your adept skills, streamline processes and enhance the clarity and accessibility of vital information. Your dedication to exceptional service will ensure that every member of our university community receives unparalleled support and guidance.   • Provide prompt and accurate responses to employee benefit questions with clear interpretations. 
  • Management of various benefit processes and reconciliations. 
  • Completion of bi-weekly, monthly, and annual benefit entries, invoicing, and open enrollment activities. 
  • Assist in various capacities of data entry functions. 
  • Participation in various committees and project teams (including benefits conversion in Oracle Cloud implementation). 
  • Knowledge of benefits compliance, reporting, and information privacy and security

This role will predominantly be based on campus, fostering direct interaction and collaboration within the university community.

Responsibilities

  • Assists with the administration and reporting of all benefits and retirement programs. 
  • Provides administrative support, including scheduling appointments, managing calendars, and organizing meetings.  
  • Perform monthly benefit transactions, upload, and reconciliation. 
  • Manage data entry, invoicing, benefit elections, and adjustments throughout the employment life cycle. 
  • Active involvement with onboarding new hires, changes, and termination of benefits. 
  • Participate in workers’ compensation claim reporting and quarterly and annual reporting as required. 
  • Supports the Tuition Remission and Tuition Exchange platforms. 
  • Responds to internal and external customers regarding general health and welfare questions through our shared services email/portal. 
  • Maintain employee confidence by keeping benefit information confidential. 
  • Improves job knowledge by participating in educational opportunities and training. 

Required Qualifications 

  • HS diploma or equivalent required. Some post-secondary education preferred. 
  • 3+ years’ experience in an administrative role required. Experience working within Human Resources preferred.  
  • Proficient computer literacy and experience with Microsoft Office 365, Outlook, Excel, and PowerPoint.

  • Strong verbal and written communication skills to present information clearly and adapt messages for different audiences.  
  • Possess the ability to simplify complex information and tailor communications to diverse audiences. 
  • Demonstrates a highly organized work ethic for efficiently managing multiple tasks.  
  • Clearly demonstrates critical thinking ability, time management efficiency, attention to detail and provide problem resolutions as necessary.   
  • Must possess a positive attitude, pleasant demeanor, and ability to work well in a team; with eagerness to learn and grow in knowledge and responsibility.
