The Department of Psychology at Butler University invites applications for a tenure-track Assistant Professor in Developmental Psychology or Child Clinical Psychology to start in August 2024. We seek colleagues who are committed to inclusive undergraduate teaching and collaborative research with undergraduate students. Successful applicants will be broadly trained in psychology and will be ready to teach in a multidisciplinary university core curriculum. Standard teaching load is nine (9) credit hours per semester plus an active program of research involving undergraduate collaborators. We seek colleagues who will be ready to teach required psychology courses such as research methods and statistics, introductory psychology, lifespan developmental, abnormal psychology, and/or personality, as well as upper-level electives in their area of expertise. Successful candidates will have demonstrated a commitment to building an inclusive environment for an increasingly diverse student body, both in the classroom and through or within their research. 

This position requires full-time, in-person instruction. A Ph.D. in Developmental or Child Clinical Psychology (or a closely related field) at the time of appointment is required. Applicants with research specializations engaging critical perspectives and/or focused on areas related to diversity are especially encouraged to apply.  

The Butler University Psychology Department is in the new science complex on campus. The Sally Beck Suite of the newly renovated Holcomb building houses the department and includes faculty offices, labs, and classrooms.
