Position Overview
The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program within the College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences (COPHS) at Butler University invites applications for a Program Director. This position is available as early as September 2023.
The College of Pharmacy and Health Sciences is proposing an expansion of programs to include a Bachelor of Science in Nursing program. The Bachelor of Science in Nursing program is a professional bachelor's degree that will seek approval from the Indiana State Board of Nursing and accreditation from CCNE (Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education).
Responsibilities
This position is a full-time, 12-month, tenured or tenure track, faculty appointment with administrative duties in the College. Academic rank will be commensurate with the candidate’s level of experience and qualifications at the time of hiring.
The Program Director will be responsible for:
- Providing faculty and programmatic leadership,
- Direct student advisement,
- Curricular oversight and assessment,
- Programmatic evaluation, and
- Oversight of the admission criteria and process for the program.
The Program Director will engage in teaching, scholarship, and service activities consistent with the typical requirements of COPHS faculty. The Program Director reports to the Dean of COPHS and will serve as a member of the College Leadership Team.
Qualifications:
- Master’s in nursing and hold an additional doctorate
- Experience in clinical nursing practice, administration, and education.
- Current unencumbered RN license with eligibility for licensure in Indiana
- Familiarity with accreditation and state regulations
- At least 2 years teaching experience coupled with or open to innovative curricular design and delivery (e.g., online teaching, co-operatives)
- Demonstrated commitment to promoting diversity, equity, and inclusion, and a willingness to contribute to building an inclusive learning environment for an increasingly diverse student population
