Position Overview

The Senior Systems Analyst will perform implementation, training, documentation, support, and maintenance for Butler core systems including, but not limited to, PeopleSoft Campus Solutions, Oracle Student Financial Planning, and College Scheduler. This position also creates and manages Campus Solutions Integration Broker interfaces with various other systems both within PeopleSoft and third party vendors. He/she is responsible for providing support in a healthy, reliable, efficient, and cost-effective manner focusing on the business value. The Senior Information System Analyst will serve as a resource to functional areas to analyze and recommend business solutions to solve complex university needs. This position will provide leadership by anticipating and planning upgrades and implementations and is responsible for ensuring all change control and documentation policies are followed. The Senior Information System Analyst will work to support and implement integration strategies between the systems they support and Butler's data analytics, reporting and visualization solutions to insure the appropriate information is easily available to meet university needs.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Participate in the planning, staffing, coordination, execution, and completion of projects and ensures the consistency and maintainability of existing applications by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards/procedures for implementing technical solution for multiple systems including, but not limited to, OnBase, Advance, and PeopleSoft Financials
  • Develops and maintains PeopleSoft Integration Broker solutions
  • Analyzes complex business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions
  • Developed and maintains PeopleSoft Financials functionality including, but not limited to, Tools upgrades, SQR's, SQL Developer, Application Engines, PeopleCode, and App Designer
  • Develop and maintain Onbase including vendor management, security, system upgrade testing, custom development supporting the Student Disability Services and other campus departments and maintains the Scanner Interfaces to PeopleSoft
  • Support of Student Financial Planning reporting and data analytics
  • Support and report student Butler Cultural Credits system integration with PeopleSoft Campus Solutions
  • Manage data integration between systems using Talend
  • Insure system/application technical documentation is written and appropriate and document lessons learned on projects and propose improvement procedures
  • Perform liaison duties between users, operations, and programming personnel in the areas of systems design, modifications or trouble shooting
  • Manage multiple priorities and interact effectively as a team member and participate in group meetings and team building actives

Qualifications and Requirements:

  • Bachelor's Degree - Computer Science, Computer Technology, or computer related field or 2 to 1 work experience
  • The ability to analyze, visualize, articulate, and conceptualize complex and noncomplex problems; ability to facilitate and develop innovative solutions in a collaborative manner with business unit staff as well as IT staff
  • Establish and maintain effective working relationships with IT leaders, staff, and various constituencies. Demonstrative effective verbal and written communication of complex ideas.
  • Self-starter who is comfortable with abstract concepts (systems thinking)
  • Effectively work with and motivate peers in a high performance team
  • Broad knowledge of all IT systems and general business processes
  • Effectively manage small or medium sized projects with one or two business units and IT resources
