The innovative Talent Acquisition team at Butler University is growing, and we are seeking a dynamic Talent Acquisition Specialist to join us in attracting diverse talent to build on an already dedicated, innovative, and supportive community of faculty and staff that is moving Butler Beyond. 

Reporting to the Talent Acquisition Manager as part of the talent acquisition and human resources team at Butler University, you will create and execute results-oriented comprehensive recruitment plans consistent with the strategic vision of the University.   

We are searching for someone who thrives on establishing relationships as a credible partner to develop and implement and execute recruitment strategies. You will work closely with departments to attract top talent, develop diverse pipelines of qualified candidates for various positions, and cultivate creative recruitment ideas. This position will have a primary focus on faculty recruitment, and directly impact the level of diverse talent hired at Butler University. You will also have an eye for efficiency and bring solutions to increase our talent operations enhancing the candidate and hiring manager experience.   

Primary Responsibilities: 

  • Serve as the HR strategic partner for all recruiting activity, including job advertising, sourcing, interviewing and candidate selection.  

  • Form strong relationships with past applicants and passive candidates for future opportunities with particular focus on building our future talent pipeline.  

  • Identify top talent sources using innovative, creative and current practices to attract and interview a diverse pool of qualified candidates.  

  • Partner with hiring managers to review and discuss open requisitions, job requirements, interview panel, timeline, and identify critical issues to address during interviews.  

  • Serve as a liaison between candidates and Butler University, ensuring all communications are prompt and professional and create a positive, seamless and engaging process resulting in a great candidate experience presenting Butler as the employer of choice.  

  • Ensure compliance with federal and state recruiting regulations and hiring practices.  

  • Continually update the applicant tracking system (ATS) to ensure data accuracy enabling analysis of recruitment metrics (e.g., funnel yield, time-to-hire, and productivity of sources).  

  • Provide ongoing analytical reporting on recruiting efforts and trends, and continuously improve the talent acquisition process to meet the changing needs of the business and provide best-in-class recruitment support.  

  • Support other administrative recruiting and on-boarding duties as assigned or needed to support the overall success of the team.  

Qualifications and Requirements: 

  • Bachelor's degree in Human Resources, Business Administration, Management, or related field and up to 5 years of relevant experience in a recruiting, sourcing, or recruitment marketing role. Consideration will be given to an equivalent combination of education and experience.  

  • Higher education experience is preferred, particularly involvement with faculty recruitment. 

  • Strong commitment to diversity, equity, and inclusion  

  • Strong working knowledge of recruiting best practices, laws, and regulations  

  • Hands on experience with posting jobs on social media and job boards  

  • Experience with HRIS, ATS, Sourcing and Recruitment Marketing tools  

  • Effective multi-tasking and time management skills with strong attention to detail  

  • Ability to handle multiple searches and deliver a high level of service to internal clients  

  • Ability to work well independently, as well as in a team environment  

  • Ability to maintain confidential information with the utmost discretion
