Financial Aid Systems Coordinator

  •  Understands complex computer software programs and data management. Manages and runs the daily operations for all financial aid automated systems. Responsible for quality control of system data whether input manually or via electronic processes.
  • Assist in managing and testing of all FA processes, both daily and with updates to software or setup. Ensures systems comply with Federal Regulations and preserve the integrity of FA data. Performs regression testing including security as well as review and implementation of all new functionality. Creates procedures and delivers the latest documentation to staff. Stays current on issues reported and monitors listserves for potential problems that could arise.
  •  Collaborates with Information Systems Analyst position to keep the system functioning properly and anticipate ways the system could be utilized to advance efforts of the office and goals of the University. Suggests ways the new functionality could be utilized in the office and then works to deliver the final product.
  • Oversees all aspects of need analysis and federal processing in relation to the system. Includes oversight of internal packaging guidelines and awarding of aid to students to ensure that student files are processed accurately and in a timely manner. Ensures that student aid packaging/processing guidelines are in compliance with federal, state and institutional rules and regulations which leads to disbursements of approximately $120 million each academic year. To maintain data integrity, disseminates this information to staff through written and verbal communication.
  •  Provides technical expertise and input to integrate external software products such as Onbase, Slate, Cegment and Department of Education software. Provides technical support to office staff by troubleshooting and problem resolution. Leads and coordinates renewal of aid for upcoming year and provides support for loan processing.
  •  Other duties as assigned.
