Position Overview

Butler University’s Department of Information Technology is looking for a dynamic Salesforce Administrator who will play a pivotal role in advancing Salesforce CRM and Marketing Cloud at the University. This role will serve as Salesforce subject matter expert, closely working with stakeholders, vendors, and internal teams throughout the university to provide process improvement, configuration, support, as well as Marketing Cloud data integration and email campaigns. Reporting to the Assistant Director, Development and working closely with the IT development team, Marketing and Communication and other university leaders, the Salesforce Administrator is responsible for designing and implementing enterprise-wide solutions that improve customer interactions and process efficiencies. A key objective for this role will be to identify, develop, and deploy creative solutions to complicated business challenges. Successful applicants will be collaborative, self-motivated problem solvers who enjoy meaningful work in a hybrid working environment. 

Primary Responsibilities:

    • Manage the technical aspects of CRM application, including the portal, custom integrations, applications, Experience Cloud, and implement Salesforce releases with minimum user disruption  

    • Manage the technical aspects of Salesforce Marketing Cloud application, including the portal, custom integrations, applications, and Marketing Cloud Connector.  

    • Prototype and build objects, fields, validation rules, page layouts, calculated fields and Flows.  

    • Define security with roles, groups, profiles, permission sets, and field-level security. Maintain the functional areas of data management, monitor end-user usage and security and ensure data integrity across all systems. 

    • Development lifecycle - using change sets to build, test, and deploy new solutions from developer sandboxes to a partial/full sandbox and then to the production environment  

    • Designing and generating Salesforce reports and dashboards  

    • Facilitate and perform functional user testing and conduct basic training for departmental resources  

    • Work with vendors, project sponsors and other IT staff to gather and evaluate project requirements, ensure that client partnership translates demand into effective requirements, and to recommend solutions that meet the business/academic partners goals while aligning with university objectives  

    • Maintain documentation of changes/releases, knowledge articles, business processes, design/architecture, etc.  

    • Contribute to development of strategic vision of Salesforce platform at Butler

Qualifications and Requirements:

    • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Computer Technology, or computer related field or other Bachelor's degree plus 2 to 1 work experience 

    • 2-4 years Salesforce Administrator experience 

    • Ability to work independently 

    • Strong communication, interpersonal and teamwork skills 

    • Excellent problem-solving skills 

    • Ability to work in a highly interactive environment 

    • Strong business acumen and judgment, innate problem-solving skills, and an intense willingness to learn new business processes and technologies. 

    • Ability to work cooperatively with all levels within the organization 

    • Software development experience a plus  

    • Experience in Higher Education a plus
