Position Overview

Seeking highly motivated and energetic CMA with a special interest in College Health.  Must be able to work in a fast paced environment with a broad understanding of Primacy Care and working with a diverse and inclusive health care team.     

Responsibilities:

  • Performs a variety of patient care activities to assist physicians and nursing personnel
  • Prepares the examination room for the patient as well as taking patient vital signs and recording vitals in medical record
  • Utilizes phlebotomy skills and ability to run other rapid lab tests
  • Utilizes automated scheduling, billing and electronic medical record systems
  • Responds to patients’ questions and needs by editing, canceling and rescheduling appointments as necessary according to clinic protocols
  • Ensures accuracy of data input with scheduling, registration, etc.

     Qualifications:

  • High school diploma or equivalent and a Certified Medical Assistant Certification from an accredited program      
  • Current AHA Healthcare Provider (BCLS) and TST (Tuberculosis Skin Testing) certification required
  • Desired 2-5 years of work experience with direct patient care, primary care with Medical Providers                                                         
  • Knowledge of medical terminology of diseases and treatment
  • Knowledge of ICD-10 and CPT-4 coding; knowledge of electronic billing, scheduling and health records preferred
  • Effective interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills
